WHAT IS METAGENOMIC TESTING?

Both the Microbiomix Metagenomic Mapping Test and the BiomeFX test use shotgun metagenomic sequencing to analyze all genetic material in a stool sample, identifying thousands of microbial species—including bacteria, viruses, and fungi. Unlike targeted tests, this unbiased approach detects even unculturable or previously unknown microbes, revealing the full diversity of the microbiome. It also provides key insights into digestion, inflammation, and gut permeability for a comprehensive gut health assessment.
